Let your feet unwind too

We all know the feeling of coming home from a busy day with nothing else in mind than to let go of all the stress and tasks of the day and taking time to simply just be. The same goes for your feet, which might have spent the day in a closed shoe or in uncomfortable high heels. With the supportive slippers from glerups, your feet get the equivalent of you putting on a hoodie after wearing a suit – it is much more comfortable and tells your entire body that now the time has come to just relax. You don’t have to wear them for long, before you start noticing how your entire body reacts to the comfortability spreading from your feet. In this busy day and age, it is important to keep a balance between working and restitution and with a pair of glerups supportive slippers on your feet, you are well on your way.

A natural process from farm to foot

At glerups we are proud of providing our fans with the finest results of our work. We make our supportive slippers with the finest wool mix, a mix that combines Danish wool from Gotland sheep with quality wool from New Zealand. It is a mix that we continuously keep refining over decades of dedication combined with the feedback our fans provide us with. It creates a special sensation, which is also the work of an innovative approach coupled up with solid craftsmanship. By doing so, we create a unique result that is characterised by an extraordinary softness and unique breathability, which means that you will most likely always feel comfortable in a pair of glerups supportive slippers.

Our slippers are versatile in usage, as they provide both comfort and support for your feet. This makes them perfect for small activities around the house, like cleaning, tidying up or even cooking. But they are also a lovely addition to your leisure time, when you just want to unwind and feel as comfortable as possible – on your feet as well as your body. They can also be worn in the office or in the studio, anywhere when you feel the need to pamper your feet really. Wherever you choose to wear them, they are sure to lift both your sensation of comfortability and your mood. The materials allow your feet to breathe whether you are warm or cold. This leads us to the fact that these slippers can be worn all year round. The wool itself regulates according to the surrounding environment and lets excess heat and moisture out through the natural fibres, leaving you feeling good. Even if you tend to get warm feet and build up sweat, glerups got you covered. The natural fibres lock in any unpleasant odour and it is gone the next time you leave them out in the fresh air. Danish design philosophy made wearable

Adhering to Danish design philosophy as well as tradition of making things in a simple way, with discreet yet pleasing aesthetics, while simultaneously keeping the traditional craftsmanship in mind, glerups slippers are a symphony of Nordic style. The colours are inspired by Nordic nature and are therefore an easy fit into any wardrobe. At glerups we aim to constantly stay in touch with the most innovative and modern techniques when producing our supportive slippers . At the same time we keep the traditional craftsmanship in focus ensuring us being able to provide our customers with a product that is both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

At glerups, we believe in creating supporting slippers that have a timeless design and are functional in your everyday life. This goes for all the products in our range, actually. This way, our slippers and other footwear are the perfect example of Danish design tradition, but also the Nordic way of thinking, when it comes to durability. We are proud of being able to create designs that will bring you coziness, joy and comfort for years. All it takes is for you to take care of them with the easy steps provided in our care guide, which you will find here on our website.

The start of glerups

The story of glerups might as well have been written by Hans Christian Andersen. It all started many years ago, when founder of glerups Nanny Glerup, saw an ad in the local newspaper for a class in making things out of wool using felting techniques. At this time, it was popular to learn to do as many things for yourself as possible, as self sufficiency was on a rise all over Europe. Nanny found out that she had a knack for felting and soon presented her husband Ove with a pair of homemade wool slippers. Ove was very excited about this lovely gift and soon enough, he wouldn’t go anywhere without wearing them. His enthusiasm quickly spread, and soon friends and family were lining up to order a pair from Nanny as well.

This led Ove, who was also a fan of ethical thinking, to buying a small farm, where he and Nanny could live together and produce more slippers – with wool from sheep, they could have on the farm. Slowly but surely it turned into a real business and the result of their hard work and dedication turned into what is today simply called glerups.

Fun fact: The old farm that Ove purchased is today the headquarters for glerups, lovingly named simply “The farm”.

In need of extra support? glerups got you

If you like what you read, but feel like you might need more than just slippers to support your tired feet? Take a look at our boot slippers, which have all the same properties and benefits as the supportive slippers, but also go above your ankle, which heightens the support of the foot. All in all, an investment in any product from glerups are an addition to you taking care of yourself and giving you the comfort you deserve. We hope that you will join glerups extended family from around the world.
